About Silly Walks:
Silly Walks Discotheque is one of Germany´s foundation Reggae Soundsystems founded in 1991 in Hamburg. Unto the late 90´s Tilmann Otto, better known as the international Reggaestar Gentleman, was an integral part of the crew as their MC where he started his career and delivered energetic performances for the crowd. Meanwhile the Crew consists of Selector Oliver Schrader and MC Joscha Hoffmann.
Silly Walks made a deep impact on the european reggae scene with their productions and releases such as „Songs of melody“, „Silly Walks meets Patrice“ and various 7“ releases feat. Gentleman, Capleton, Tanya Stephens, Jan Delay, Max Herre, Turbulence, Lutan Fyah just to name a few.
The musical focus of Silly Walks covers 40 years of reggae-history from
Studio One to the latest dancehall tunes. Always spiced with a dignified selection of other
caribbean sounds as Soca or Reggaeton just as music from urban africa like the ghanaian
Hiplife or Coupé Decalé from the Ivory coast.
Silly Walks Discotheque is very active as a Reggae/dancehall producerteam.
In 2009 they released the 14 track strong Dancehallreggae Riddim „Aspire“ on their own Label featuring Artists like Gentleman, Luciano, Louie Culture, Lutan Fyah, Lady G, Rebellion, Nkulee Dube and more. The release climbed up various Reggae Charts worlwide, had the german reggae charts locked for weeks and was the #1 Riddim in Gambia and more parts of west africa in 2010.
In 2010 Silly Walks has been part of the productionteam of the latest Gentleman album with the track „Shut Eye Country“ feat. Gentleman, Luciano and Jack Radics as well as an official remix of the chart topping single „To The Top“ feat Gentleman and Christopher Martin. After they celebrated the 20th anniversary of the project in 2011, Silly Walks released a new various artist Album titled „Storms Of Life“ (TeTe Music/Groove Attack) on May 18th 2012 which features established Reggaestars such as Konshens, J Boog, Luciano and Gentleman as well as newcomers like Exco Levi, Torch and Etzia and many others.
The crew is amongst the most booked Sounds in germany right now and played all over europe including shows on the biggest reggae festivals such as Summerjam, Reggaejam and Chiemsee Reggae in germany, Rototom Festival in Italy as well as Uppsala reggae festival in Sweden and many more.
